Watercolor painting: technique in which color pigment is mixed with water to create translucent layers of color. Watercolors offer an ethereal, dreamy quality to the paintings, layering color upon color with soft edges.

Oil Painting
Oil Painting: technique in which pigments are mixed with hot, liquid wax. After all of the colors have been applied to the painting surface, a heating element is passed over them until the individual brush or spatula marks fuse into a uniform film.
Pastel
Pastel: technique in which powdered pigments have been baked into sticks of color. The chalk-like pastels are applied by hand on soft, textured paper to produce a velvet-like texture and soft appearance.
